WETM TV's Emmy Award winning journalist, Andy Malnoske, was the featured speaker at our 42nd. annual HOF banquet at 6.00pm at the Corning Museum of Glass on March 11, 2017.  


Andy Malnoske is an Emmy® Award-winning journalist and three-time Emmy® nominee. Andy is the first Emmy® winner in Elmira/Corning/Ithaca television market history, which spans nearly 60 years of broadcasting.

He joined WETM-TV as sports director after working at WSTM-TV in Syracuse where he covered the historic Final Four runs by both the SU men’s and women’s basketball teams in 2016.

Andy worked on “The Orange Zone,” a weekly take on Syracuse football and basketball, covered Washington Nationals minor league baseball and Tampa Bay Lightning affiliate hockey while in Central NY. A proud Horseheads native, Andy is thrilled to return home and work for the station he grew up watching. His work has earned him several NYS AP Broadcast Awards, multiple Syracuse Press Club best sports story honors and Ithaca College’s young alumnus of the year.

A proud graduate of Ithaca College, Andy also earned a master’s degree at Shippensburg University. In south central Pennsylvania, he was the voice for several Red Raider athletic teams, worked in the sports information office, assisted CBS Harrisburg and created a documentary on the 1990 Shippensburg Little League National Champions, which is now in the Little League Baseball Museum archives.

Andy also serves on the board for the Chemung County Sports Hall of Fame, is a committee consultant for a Watkins Glen student-athlete group and has been a voice for 1410 WELM ESPN Radio in Elmira and RLM Sports in Corning. Andy has called play-by-play action for Cornell University basketball, Elmira College athletics, covered The Super Bowl, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and more in his career.

A pro wrestling enthusiast, Andy is a two-time announcer audition finalist for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and his work has appeared in Pro Wrestling Illustrated Magazine & the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum. He’s also ring announced for a Rochester based pro wrestling promotion. 

Andy enjoys spending time with his wife Michelle and their cat, Helo, as well as hitting up the Finger Lakes region.
