Robert A. Adams (deceased) was born in Naples, N.Y. where he was a standout student-athlete, but made his legacy as a youth coach in the Corning-Painted Post area for all of his adult life.
After serving his country in the military, Bob (or Bud) settled in Painted Post and began coaching Little League baseball in the early 1960s. Not only did Bob coach his kids, he taught them about life and what to expect when they got older. He was a true teacher/coach and was revered by those he guided. Bob was considered one of the finest umpires in the history of District 6 Little League and was often requested by other teams as they advanced through tournament play. Later in his life after his son took ownership of Willowcreek Golf Club, you would find Bob down at the course on a daily basis teaching kids the fundamentals of the game of golf as well as the lessons of life. He and his son were a great team and youth golf in this area is truly richer because of them.
