Swimming - 2000
Amy Bosseler competed for the Coming East varsity swimming team from the seventh grade through her tenth grade year. She then transferred to Peddie School in New Jersey where she graduated in 1990. While at East, Amey was either first or second (with C-PP Hall of Famer Julie Kent) in teams points for three years. While at Peddie High School, she was named All-American three times in the 100-yard backstroke, and also in the Medley Relay and 200 IM and was honorable mention in the 100 breaststroke and 500 freestyle. Amey was New Jersey state champion in both the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke and a member of the 1990 National Championship Girls Team. During four Empire State Games competitions as a 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th grader, Amey won two gold medals, three silvers and a bronze in the 100 backstroke; two golds and a silver in the 200 backstroke, gold medal in the 400 IM and two gold medals in the medley relay. That's a total of seven golds, four silvers and one bronze. She attended the University of Miami where she captured the Big East Championship in the 100 backstroke and the 200 backstroke as a junior and a senior. She set University of Miami records in the 100 backstroke along with the 200 and 400 medley relay and set Big East Conference records in the 200 backstroke, 200 IM and the 400 IM. She currently lives in Levittown, PA.
