Lacrosse - 2000
Dan Burnside is a 1990 graduate of Corning East High School where he played four years for the Trojans varsity lacrosse team, including his final two years as the teams' starter as goaltender. As a junior, Dan was named an honorable mention to the Southern Tier Lacrosse League. He helped lead East to the state championship game after setting up the play that tied the regional championship game in regulation. The Trojans won that contest in overtime but lost in the state title. As a senior, Dan blossomed into a team leader, being named a Tricaptain, and the league's number one goalie. The Trojans were 111 in league play and 212 overall. East capped the 1990 season with their only (to date) state championship. Dan was named as the Defensive MVP of the title game. He ranks third in total games played by a goalie for East and is considered one of the quickest players to ever enter the cage for the Trojans. He was offered a scholarship to attend Syracuse University but instead chose to play at Keuka College where he played for only one season. Dan currently lives in Corning.
