ROGER BROWN

Cross Country - 2005

ROGER BROWN graduated from Corning West High in 1975. He was a member of the Vikings varsity cross country team for four years. During his high school career, Roger crossed the finish line first 24 times, and in the process of piling up those victories, he set four course records. Roger was the winner in the first nine races his junior year, with course records at Bath and Elmira Southside. In his first eight races as a senior he was the winner in each meet, setting course records at Waverly and EFA. While Roger was a member of the West High team, the Vikings sported a record of 40 wins and 2 losses. Twice the Vikings went undefeated during that span as they won three STC Championships along with three Steuben championships and two county meet championships. Not only did Roger contribute to the tremendous success of the Vikings program for four years, he was a leader by example for his teammates. Following his graduation, Roger went into law enforcement and currently runs his own detective agency (with his wife) in Towanda, Pa.
