Bob Clarkson is a 1984 graduate of Corning West High and has been involved in lacrosse for the past 30 years. He enlisted in the Air Force right out of high school, and during the years 1992 to 1994 Bob played for the Air Force travel lacrosse team that played against a number of college programs across the country. After an injury curtailed his playing career, Bob coached this team for a year. After moving to Michigan, he developed a youth lacrosse program and coached at all levels. In 2007 the Davenport University president called and asked Bob if he would develop a lacrosse program for the school. This school belongs to the NAIA so the lacrosse team would compete in the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association. After three years of making it to the national MCLA tournament, Bob’s Davenport team captured the National Championship at the Division II level of the MCLA with a 14-9 win over S. Thomas in the finals. He was named the MCLA Coach of the Year in 2011.
