Cross Country - 2003
Donald Campbell was a 1976 graduate of Corning West High. He was a member of the cross country team for four years and a member of the track team for three years. During his cross country tenure, Don led his team to a combined 41-3 record, winning many races. During his track career, Don's teams won the STC and County championships three times as he ran both the one-mile and two-mile races. He took his running talents to Alfred Tech and was a top member of those teams until they dropped the sport in 1978. Don then went to RIT where he once again shined for cross country and track teams with numerous wins. While there, he was a member of the RIT 150th Anniversary U.S. Transcontinental Relay Team that crossed the country in a record time of 14 days, 4 hours and 8 minutes in the 2,846.5 mile run, breaking record previously held by LAPD by six days. Don currently lives with his family in San Francisco.
