FRANK CURRERI

Football - 2009

FRANK CURRERI graduated from Corning West High School in 1979 and was one of the most dominant linemen the Viking’s football program has ever produced. He was a mainstay on the unbeaten 1977 (7-0) West High team that competed in the first ever Section 5 Class AA Championship game. Despite losing a close game to undefeated East Rochester, Frank led the way for running back Ron Marcucci to run for 103 yards and win the Player of the Game award. Frank was the starting center, defensive tackle and long snapper for three years and served as one of the team captains during his senior season. During his career at West High, Frank was named to the All Sullivan Trail Conference team, the All Twin-Tiers team and the All-Upstate New York State team. Following his senior season, Frank was named the Corning Lions Club Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year. He attended Bloomsburg University and owns Curreri Accounting. Frank and his family currently live in the Corning area.
