JOHN COPP

Track/Cross-Country - 2005

JOHN COPP graduated from Corning East High in 1999. He was a member of the Corning District cross-country, indoor and outdoor track teams, earning ten varsity letters during his career. He was the top runner for the crosscountry team as a junior and senior and was team captain for all three teams as a senior. He qualified for the state meet his senior season. John was also the top point producer for both the indoor and outdoor track teams. Following graduation, John went to SUNY Cortland where he left his mark on the cross-country program and the indoor and outdoor teams. He was All-Conference as a junior and named team captain three times and was named the Athlete of the Week three times. Following college, John has participated in the Boilermaker every year, won the local Red Baron half-marathon in 2003, He is currently coaching the cross-country and indoor and outdoor track teams at Onondaga High School.
