MIKE COOK

Football - 1995

MIKE COOK (Martinez, CA) was a two-sport star at Corning West during the middle 1970s excelling at running back on the gridiron and sprints for the track team. During his football career at West he averaged over 100 yards a game in his two seasons. He gained 394 years in two East-West games and was a back-to-back winner of the Lions Club Offensive Back of the Year. Was named All-League as a junior, the only non-senior named to the team and repeated that honor as a senior when he was a unanimous choice. During his two seasons on the track team, he never lost a 100 or 220 yard dash in dual meets. His fastest time in the 220 of 21.7 seconds is still a school record. Mike continued his football career at Colgate where he played as a freshman and then on the 150-pound team.
