Richard Capo (Painted Post) was an all-conference lineman with the Corning Free Academy Bulldogs in the late 1950s...lettered three years in a row for CFA and also served as class president during his junior and senior years...came back to high school following a very successful collegiate career to serve under coach Pete Hatch as assistant line coach...after graduation from high school, Dick went to SUNY Brockport College where he lettered three years as a lineman for the football team—although statistics for offensive linemen in those days were pretty much unheard of, he capped his collegiate career with his nomination for the 1960 Small College All-American Football Team—continued his involvement with football by becoming one of the first two head coaches of a Corning area small fry football team in the early 1980's...During the mid 1980's he was a member of the New York State High School Football Officials Association.
