Shawn Corcoran graduated from Corning East High School in 1977 following a high school career that saw him excel in three sports -lacrosse, football and basketball. During Shawn's senior season for the Trojans basketball team, he averaged a double-double with over 13 points per game and over 11 rebounds per game. Shawn was named to the STC First Team and also the All Twin Tiers First Team and was named the Kiwanis Club Defensive Player of the Year. That season East went 16-4 losing in the Section V semi- finals. Also during his senior season, Shawn was named to the All Twin Tiers Football First Team as an offensive tackle for the undefeated Trojans and was named to the All- Section V Lacrosse First Team as a defenseman. He went to the University of Maryland Baltimore County on a lacrosse scholarship. Shawn died of cancer in January of 1979. He joins his late father Joseph and brothers Terry, Chris and Joseph, Jr., in the C-PP Sports Hall of Fame.
