Lacrosse - 2008
KELSEY FRENCH graduated from Corning East High in 2002 and was a vital cog in the Lady Trojans lacrosse program helping them get to the State semifinals her junior and senior seasons. During her two years on the varsity team, Kelsey was named to the AllSection IV and AllLeader teams both years. She also earned a bronze medal in the Empire State Games in 2001 as a member of the Western team. Kelsey earned a lacrosse scholarship to independent, Division II Mercyhurst College where she made a major impact on the lacrosse program. Playing for three different coaches in four seasons, she started a school record 62 games beginning with her first game as a freshman. Kelsey finished her career for the Lakers with 175 points(3rd alltime) on 102 goals(4th alltime) and 73 assists which was third all time at Mercyhurst and 14th alltime in the history of NCAA,D2 women's lacrosse. She was named Mercyhurst Athlete of the Week in April of 06 and was named the team's Offensive Player of the Year as a senior. She is currently teaching in Houston and in the process of forming a girl's lacrosse program in the district.
