KELSEY FRENCH

Lacrosse - 2008

KELSEY  FRENCH  graduated  from  Corning  East  High  in  2002  and  was  a  vital  cog  in  the  Lady  Trojans lacrosse program helping them get to the State semi­finals her junior and senior seasons. During her two years on the varsity team, Kelsey was named to the All­Section IV and All­Leader teams both years. She also earned a bronze medal in the Empire State Games in 2001 as a member of the Western team. Kelsey earned a lacrosse scholarship  to  independent,  Division  II  Mercyhurst  College  where  she  made  a  major  impact  on  the  lacrosse program. Playing for three different coaches in four seasons, she started a school record 62 games beginning with her first game as a freshman. Kelsey finished her career for the Lakers with 175 points(3rd all­time) on 102 goals(4th  all­time)  and  73  assists  which  was  third  all  time  at  Mercyhurst  and  14th  all­time  in  the  history  of NCAA,D­2 women's lacrosse. She was named Mercyhurst Athlete of the Week in April of 06 and was named the team's  Offensive  Player  of  the  Year  as  a  senior.  She  is  currently  teaching  in  Houston  and  in  the  process  of forming a girl's lacrosse program in the district.
