Football - 1997

Dominic Gallo graduated from Corning West in 1981 after a four-year as a starter on the Vikings football team. As a four-time letterman, Dominic anchored the West defense from his middle guard position. He was twice named as the Lion's Club Defensive Player of the Year. He was also nominated as the Sullivan Trail Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a senior, following the 1980 season. Dominic was named to the All-STC first team as a sophomore, junior and senior. As a junior he was a mainstay on the Vikings defense that lost to East Rochester in the Section V championship game. The following year, Dominic and his mates took it one step further and defeated East Rochester to win the Section V championship. There was no state championship tournament at the time. During his four years as a starter for West, Dominic enjoyed extreme success against cross-town rival East, winning all four years. Following his graduation from Corning West, Dominic went to the University of Albany where he graduated in 1984. He is currently living in Schenectady, N. Y. with his wife Susan and two daughters, Lisa and Michelle.
