WILLIAM GREEN

WILLIAM GREEN is a motorsports historian of major significance. He has served as the historian of the Glen  Region,  Sports  Car  Club  of  America,  which  encompasses  Steuben,  Chemung,  Schuyler,  and  Yates counties, for more than 30 years. Since 1984, Bill has served as the historian for Watkins Glen International and in 1999 he was appointed as the historian for the International Motor Racing Research Center at Watkins Glen. In this capacity, he provides response to hundreds of inquiries that come in from all over the world, about racing at Watkins Glen and motorsports in general. 

Bill has co­authored two books on the history of Watkins Glen with both of them being published in 1998 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of racing at Watkins Glen. He also has contributed to a number of other motorsports books worldwide.

When Jim Riesbeck spearheaded the drive by Corning Glass Works to purchase the Watkins Glen Grand Prix property, Bill was one of the first resources he turned to. Bill's collection of Watkins Glen racing material is considered to be the finest and most complete in the world.
