Lacrosse - 2008

GREG HAVALCHAK graduated form Corning East High in 2002. He was one of the best goalies ever for the Trojans storied lacrosse team holding school records for most saves in a season and most saves in a career. In the  summer  of  2002,  Greg  was  a  member  of  the  bronze  medal  winning  lacrosse  team  in  the  Empire  State Games. Following his graduation from East, Greg was awarded a full scholarship to attend Rutgers University where he made an immediate impact by being named Division One Freshman of the Year by Inside Lacrosse.Three times at Rutgers Greg was named to the All­American team, and as sophomore he was named a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award, the top individual honor for a lacrosse player. Greg was named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year twice, and three times he was named the most valuable player for Rutgers. He is currently playing  in  the  Major  Lacrosse  League  for  the  Rochester  Rattlers  and  also  serves  as  the  goalie  coach  and defensive coordinator at Rensselear Polytechnic Institute.
