Soccer - 1995

JEFF HORTON (serving in Bolivia) enters the Hall of Fame as one of the first two charter members in the sport of soccer. As a member of the very first Corning District soccer team, he was named to the All-STC team in both of those first two years. According to coach Sandy Ostebo, it was the work ethic of Jeff that helped lay the groundwork for a successful soccer program in Corning. He went onto Paul Smith College where he played with success for the first two years before transferring to Syracuse University where he made the varsity team. But a serious sledding accident ended his soccer career prematurely. He was also a key part of the track team at East and played ice hockey for local amateur teams in the Southern Tier area. He is currently serving in the Peace Corps in Bolivia.
