RANDY HOLDEN

RANDY HOLDEN is a 1970 graduate of Southside High School in Elmira and went to Mansfield University where he played free safety for two years. Upon graduating from Mansfield, Randy was an assistant coach at Southside while teaching at Troy High School. He was named the head football coach at Corning East in 1983 and has been there ever since. His overall record with the Trojans is 99­70­4 which includes a 15­2­2, (9­0 the past nine years) versus crosstown rirval West. Randy's 2003 team advanced to the New York State Class B Finals before finally losing. That team's 12­1 record is the most wins ever by a Corning East football team. Randy was named the Coach of the Year in 1989 and 2003 in the Twin Tiers and Section IV. He was named as the head coach for the Ernie Davis Exceptional Seniors Game in 1997. Many of Randy's players have gone on to excel in football and in the classroom at the collegiate level. He has also coached lacrosse at East High in the JV and Varsity programs since 1995.
