RAYMOND HALL has been pitching horseshoes in the Coming-Painted Post area for over 25 years and has established himself as one of the best to ever take up the sport. He competed in world tournaments eleven times from Georgia to South Dakota and many places in between. In 1995 Raymond won the Eastern National Championships. He is a three time New York State Open Champion (1986, 1998 and 2004), finished second once and in 2008 captured the NYS Class B Senior Championship. Six times, Raymond has captured the Gold Medal in the New York State Senior Olympics. He first won the title in 1993 and then captured the crown again in 1995,2002,2004,2005 and 2006. While competing locally in tournaments such as the County Fair along with tournaments in Prattsburg, Elmira, Corning, Leroy, and Syracuse, Raymond has taken home the first place prize on 21 occasions and finished second four other times. These were all major tournaments for the area and his top five finishes are too numerous to mention. Raymond currently lives in the Corning area.
