SISTER MARY JACKSON

Track & Field - 2008

SISTER MARY JACKSON graduated from Corning East High School in 1998 and at that time, she was the first female in the school's history to earn a varsity letter six years in a row in outdoor track for the Corning District team. She was also a member of the basketball team, the soccer team and in the indoor track team. While competing in the shot put, Mary was one of the team leaders for her entire six-year career on the team. She broke shot put records for both the Corning District indoor and outdoor track teams. As a senior, Mary finished second in the Section IV indoor track meet at Cortland to earn a trip to the state meet. After graduation, Mary attended Corning Community College where she played fullback and goalie for the Red Barons soccer team. Then it was on to SUNY Cortland where she was the number two shot putter in their Track & Field program. Mary is currently the soccer, basketball and track coach at Villa Madonna School in Tampa, Florida where she continues to motivate and inspire the young student-athletes in that program.
