Baseball - 2013

Michael Knapp graduated from Corning East in 2002 where he played baseball for the Trojans and also played hockey for a local youth travel team. During his baseball career at East, Mike carded a career .385 batting average and also logged a 1.10 ERA while striking out 75 hitters in his 80 innings of pitching. He was a two-time All-Conference 1st Team selection and was twice named to the Empire Games. He also was part of a team that won the gold medal for Team USA in an 18 & under tournament. These accomplishments resulted in several professional teams wanting to draft Michael.  But he chose instead to pursue his other favorite sport and play hockey in college and played varsity hockey for both Elmira College and Potsdam University. While playing for the Elmira Junior Jackals, Mike was a First-Team Continental League All-Star. He is currently working as a manager for GNC at Arnot Mall and is very active in amateur Body Building competitions.
