Soccer - 2000
Bryan Lanahan graduated from Corning East in 1992 after playing three years of varsity soccer for the Corning District team. He was made the starting goal keeper in the middle of his sophomore season and remained there until graduation. It proved to be a great move on his part as he was named to the All-STC, first team as both a junior and senior. Following his senior season, Bryan was the only goal keeper ever considered as league MVP, finishing one vote shy of that award. During his career, he recorded 23 wins that included ten shutouts. One of those shutouts during his senior season was against Bath on their homecoming weekend. It was Bath's only loss of the season until they lost in the state finals.
The Coming District team won the STC championship behind the leadership and excellent goalie play of Bryan during his senior season when he served as co-captain of the team. Although Bryan was recruited heavily by a number of Division III schools, he had decided early on during high school to attend the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated in 1996. Currently, Bryan and wife are living in Boston.
