CHRIS LIEBNER

Soccer - 2012

Chris Liebner is a 2006 graduate of Corning East High School where he was a 3-year starter for the Corning District varsity soccer team. He was named to the All=STAC West team as a midfielder/forward as both a junior and senior.  He served as team captain during his senior campaign and was a recipient of the George Bacalles Memorial Award. He scored five goals and recorded eight assists as a senior to finish with eight goals and 11 assists for his career. Chris played club travel team soccer from age 8 and was a big part of the teams that won the Broome County League in 2002 and 2003.  In 2005 he was selected to play for the NYS West ODP team and participated in the Region I tournament at Rider University. Following graduation from East, Chris then took his talents to American University in Washington DC where he made the soccer team as a walk-on and played Division I soccer for three years, making him only the second player (Bart Lanahan at Notre Dame was the other) from the district to play D-I soccer. He was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor roll three consecutive years – twice with a perfect 4.0 GPA.  He graduated Suma Cum Laude with a BSA in 2010. He c and then earned his MS degree in Taxation in 2011.  Chris currently lives in Washington DC.
