Tennis - 2002
Mike Lane played four years of tennis at East High School and graduated in 1985. While playing for his dad's teams during that time, Mike was the first singles player and amassed a career record of 68-5. He was undefeated as a senior,and his combined record during his junior year and senior campaigns was 36-2. Also during his high school career, Mike competed in a number of junior tournaments all over New York State, winning over a dozen of those tournaments.
Mike went on to play tennis in college as a member of the SUNY Binghamton team and was the SUNYAC doubles champion in 1989.
Since graduating from college, Mike has once again taken tennis seriously and has competed and won a number of tournaments in Pennsylvania, New York and his new home state, Kentucky. He has been ranked in the top 20 in men's open tennis in the state of Kentucky for the past three years and was the National Tennis Ranking Program Men's Singles Champion in the Southern Region for 1999 and 2000.
During many of these tournaments Mike has taken the measure of a number of former Division One players from schools like Kentucky, Ball State and Ole Miss.
Currently Mike is living in Prospect, Kentucky with his wife Lisa and two children Kendall and Brooks. He has published two books with McGraw-Hill and is the President of a company owned by AEGON in the Netherlands.
