BRIAN MCCAWLEY

Lacrosse - 2010

BRIAN MCCAWLEY  graduated from Corning East in 1998 and was a late bloomer to the Trojans lacrosse program. He earned varsity letters as a junior and senior and was one of their better face-off men. He helped the Trojans go deep into the playoffs both seasons. Upon his graduation from East, Brian went on to Skidmore College where he completely blossomed as a lacrosse player and leader. He was a two-time All-American midfielder at Skidmore and helped lead the Thoroughbreds to the program’s first-ever ECAC playoff appearance and one of the programs most successful seasons in 2002. He was a dominant face-off man, winning an incredible 80% of his face-offs. Brian was the first lacrosse player at Skidmore to ever be named All-American. As a senior captain he was selected to play in the North-South Senior All-Star Game and was named the Skidmore Male Senior Athlete of the Year. According to C-PP Hall of Famer Terry Corcoran, Brian was the new face of Skidmore lacrosse and in his words “Brian McCawley stood for everything that is right about college athletics.”
