Swimming - 2008

CHRIS MATHEY graduated from West High School in 1995 following a six-year stint as a member of the Corning District swimming team. He first joined the varsity swim team as a 7th -grader. Five years in a row he was named the team’s Most Improved Swimmer. Chris earned ALL-STC honors his first four years on the varsity, was ALL-STC in four events as a junior and was named ALL-STC ,Most Valuable Swimmer his senior season. He made the Eastern Time Zones All-Star team as a sophomore and junior, was named All-Leader three years in a row and was named as the Corning West Booster Club Athlete of the Month during his junior and senior seasons. Chris set meet records four years in a row at the Christmas Relays. He still holds the District and pool records for the 400 free relay. He attended Clemson University where he played water polo .
