Lacrosse - 2012
Jon Methven graduated from Corning East High in 1992 where he played for the lacrosse and basketball teams. As a senior, Jon was a captain for both teams, but it was on the lacrosse field where he shined brightly. He was a key member of the Trojan squad that reached the NYS Finals. Following graduation, Jon took his talents to Bucknell University where he played four years of lacrosse for the Bisons. Jon finished his career at Bucknell as the seventh leading goal scorer in school history. As a senior, he was a team captain and a Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection as well as the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year and a First-Team, All-League selection, and an NCAA All-American Honorable Mention. That 1996 team went undefeated (12-0) in league play, but was snubbed by the NCAA selection committee for a tournament bid despite being the only one of 54 Division I teams to finish the season unbeaten. That team proved to be the driving force for getting the Patriot League an automatic berth to the tournament each year. John currently resides in New York City with his wife Alia.
