Track/Cross-Country - 2000

Steve Perrigo graduated from Corning East in 1989 where he ran track and cross country for four years. He capped his senior cross country season by qualifying for the state meet where he finished in 12th place. He was an integral part of the Section 4 Championship track team, competing in the 3200 relay and 1600 and 3200 runs. He set a school record in the 3200 of 9 :5 8 , a mark that still stands to this day. He continued his track and cross country career while at SUNY Fredonia, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1993. While at Fredonia, Steve qualified for the cross country national meet three times. He was also the SUNYAC conference champion twice in the 10,000m steeplechase and once in the 3,000m steeplechase. Steve was named All-Conference as both a junior and senior and was inducted into the SUNYAC Cross Country Hall of Fame. Last May he finished fourth in the Buffalo marathon and is the coach of the Jamestown CC cross country team. He lives with his wife and two children in Jamestown where Steve is a member of the Jamestown City School Board.
