JIM SONNER has been one of the best bowlers in the Corning Association since he joined the adult leagues in 1992 as a young man just out of the junior leagues. Never intimidated, Jim helped his team win a City Tournament team title that first year. Over his 17-year adult bowling career, Jim has averaged over 200 each season. Five of those seasons, he finished over the 220 mark with career-best of 228 in 2004-05. He’s been named All-City six times. He owns eleven career titles in the City Tournament including the All-Events crown in 2008 when he set a tournament record with a 253 average. Jim has rolled 12 perfect games and has topped an 800 series six times, including a career best 825.He currently serves as the President of the Corning Bowling Association. In 1998 he was inducted into the Corning Association Junior Bowling Hall of Fame and just last year Jim was inducted into the Corning Association Bowling Hall of Fame. During his spare time in the winters months on Saturdays, Jim goes to Crystal Lanes and helps coach the kids participating in the junior leagues.
