JAMIE VOLPE

Lacrosse - 2004

JAMIE VOLPE graduated from Corning East in 1989. During an era when the Trojans were blessed with many talented offensive players, Jamie was the standout defenseman who could play both close and midfield defense. He was one of the better takeaway defenders for East and was named All-STAC as a senior in high school, helping lead the Trojans to the state championship game where they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker to Yorktown. Jamie was also named to the third team All-American squad as a senior at Alfred University where he helped lead them to a #4 ranking in 1994. He capped his senior season at Alfred being named to play in the U.S.I.L.A., Division III, North-South game becoming the only East grad to be so honored. His team record at Alfred during his junior and senior seasons was an impressive 35-6.
