RICH WOODCOCK

Baseball - 2004

RICH WOODCOCK graduated from Corning East High in 1974 after a four-year stint on the varsity baseball team. Rich was named All-STC as a senior first baseman. Rich also played football at East for three years. After playing a couple of seasons in American Legion Rich joined the NYS semi-pro Cohocton Red Wings, playing for them in the National Baseball Tournament in Wichita, Kansas where he earned an invitation to a major league tryout camp with the Cincinnati Red. He didn't get the chance to sign with the Reds and came back home to play a number of years on local fast pitch softball teams as a top-notch performer on local teams. He played in a number of area tournaments along with state and national tournaments. Rich has kept his hand in the game of baseball as a Little League coach for over 20 years.
